I provide a number of technical services listed below that will allow me to troubleshoot a large number of network related problems.



Network LAN/WAN Troubleshooting

I can provide remote or on-site consultancy to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of any physical or logical issues that your network may be experiencing such as;

• Wide Area network (WAN) related circuit issues such as packet loss, high latency, bouncing, on ADSL, LES, EFM, and Serial circuit technologies.

• Local Area Network (LAN) related switch issues such as Spanning Tree loops, packet loss, duplex mismatches, faulty cabling, and vendor interoperability.

• Current network topology and network design assessment, focusing on areas that may cause issues.

• Network Layer troubleshooting for TCP/IP related problems, and IP routing issues.

• Application Layer troubleshooting using a Wireshark sniffer for packet capture as described below in the section ‘Packet Capture Analysis’.



Network Performance Testing

Poor network performance can hugely impact productivity in the workplace. To assess if your network is underperforming I can assist you with;

• Network (LAN and WAN) load testing

• Benchmark testing before and after a particular network upgrade



Packet Capture Analysis

If you have a particular application that is not performing as it should, and all appears to be configured correctly, then the next step is to capture the data being sent over the network by this application and analyse that information.

I am fully trained in packet capturing analysis and can focus on a specific fault with a particular application or service such as Email (SMTP & POP3), HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, HSRP, VRRP, SNMP, TFP, and more using a Wireshark sniffer.
